ABout the Pledge
The pledge that started it all
The Working with Cancer pledge rallies companies around the world to erase the stigma of cancer in the workplace and create an environment where people impacted by cancer feel supported because of their workplace, not in spite of it.
What it means to pledge
When you pledge, you’re making a difference by committing to:
NO. 1
Evaluate your current culture, policies, and programs to understand how you’re supporting employees today.
NO. 2
Communicate your commitment and existing offerings to give your employees confidence in your support.
NO. 3
Continue to learn and improve by refining and augmenting your offerings, using our resources as needed.
What does the pledge cover?
The pledge encourages companies to proactively support employees with cancer or other serious, chronic illnesses, like MS, heart disease, or ALS. The pledge is also designed to support employees who are taking care of a loved one with one of these diseases.
Who should take the pledge?
Any company hoping to create a more supportive environment should take the pledge, and 5,000+ organizations of all sizes have already pledged. Whether you already have lots of offerings in place or you’re just starting to think about what support might look like, pledging can make a difference for your employees.
Join the movement to create a culture of support at your company.
Take the pledgehow the pledge GOT ITS START
“I started 2022 with cancer and left it with a mission.”
When Publicis Groupe CEO Arthur Sadoun was diagnosed with cancer, he made the purposeful decision to go public. After receiving an outpouring of support from people sharing their stories, he was shocked to learn that many had hidden their own diagnoses at work for fear of losing their jobs or being perceived as weak. He decided it was time to start a global movement to bring more support to all employees impacted by cancer or other chronic illnesses, and the Working with Cancer pledge was born.
